Government should be allowed a minimum imposition over society. This means that government will only impose on certain areas, and very little at that. It will interfere only in international transactions or legal disputes. It also will provide guidelines of conduct for the people, and a small method of enforcement.
Taking in consideration the transcendentalist point of view and elements of history, I think that the government should be allowed to govern society in a limited extent. The government should only intervene in international and public affairs, which are things that the society couldn't handle by themselves.
I believe that the government should have little interference in society. This is because society should be free to express what they want without having a group of people giving orders. The government should only deal with international problems, the government can also be able to make laws that deal with disobedience.
i believe that the government should be permitted to govern society in fully extent since the society isn't capable of handling themselves and much less with all the power on their hands.
Jacopo, I will have to disagree with you. The government impose laws and measures that not everybody like and some of them might limit the things they want to do. I believe that the government should have little control in society, people should be free to do what they want without strict laws being imposed on them.
Taking into account the transendentalism, the government should take into their hands the control of some this in society. Like in crimes, unjustice of some, prejudice, racism etc... Sometimes its very important to have a person or a group of people to lead big amounts, beacause if theres no order in the world, the owrld would be caotic.

Governments should control as little as possible. With little interference the process of governing would be at it's best. The government's job should be as a moderator between their citizens, but should not be on the others privacy, and personal space.
Government should be allowed little interaction with society, because it will eventually corrupt it and turn it evil. For me the government should only work on putting certain limitations in the areas of economy and legal cases. I think that the government should not be allowed to intervene in the affairs of the people because it will set to many rules and not let the people interact properly.
Macri, I don't think that the government should be allowed to intervene in public affairs because it will start placing strict regulations which won't let people live fairly and know their true selves. Also these rules and laws end up corrupting the people and not letting them be as wise as when they were born.
lyanne the society chooses their leader so it doesnt matter what the government imposes, those laws were made by the government they voted for, and thats freedom
ERNIE, So what you're trying to say is that society should control everythiing ?! I dont think so.
JACOPO, I'm gonna have to disagree with you since i don't believe that the government should be permitted to have FULL control over society.
Jacopo, they may choose their leader, but not EVERYBODY agrees with it. The majority may have voted for them or maybe its an imposed leader, so they all may not fully agree with it.
memo i disagree with you because i think that the government should control the society as much as possible since i dont think the society is capable of governing themselves
Taking into consideration the transcendentalist point of view & elements of history, I do not believe that government should have any interference at all in the public affairs of the people. Government should be allowed to interfere to some extent, only when it is truly good. Seeing as it is impossible to for these to happen, it is better for government to have no interventions at all.
Carla, I do believe that the government should have some control over the public affairs and international business because there has to be a mediator between them and the outside world. A government is necessary in some cases because can you imagine millions of people trying to make a decision in an international problem? It will be a disaster!
Arantxa, I don’t quite agree with your idea of how much a government should interfere in the people’s affairs. Governments are always corrupt and dirty, some more than others. So how can the government, being as it is actually make things better? Is there any difference in a person who stands up and says that he won’t allow crime while at the same time is breaking the rules behind everyone’s backs, and in one that doesn’t do anything but lets it all happen? A person might have the ideal to change things, but power changes people, and alters them and their ideals.
Lyanne, deeply I do agree with the idea of a government. Yet, as I said before, I believe that the idea of a government only really works when it is a completely honest and good government. If these is not the case then having a government doesn’t really work. As you said a mediator for the problems is needed, but what good is to have a hypocrite telling you how to solve the problems when he himself is breaking the rules?
Carla, I agree with you that the government should be truly honest them as leaders be an example of what a good person should be. I think that a mediator is needed just to interfere in international affairs.
Government should not impose a great deal on society. It must only take decisions based on the consent and benefits of the people. The government will handle foreign investments and the economy, as well as other cases that would be difficult to handle by the society. Still, problem/solution cases and things that have to do with the well being of the community should be handled by society.
salvador: the government should intervene in economic cases, too. Society wouldn't be able to handle those well. Disputes can be handled by society, so there is no need for governmental guidance on this one.
As Thoreau once said government is but a wooden gun. My thesis revolves around this statement. Now a days government is just a tool to impose fear and control over society. It makes the minds of people become impure. In a transcendentalist society, the government should have no direct influence over the society. Government should only serve as a mediator.
Jacopo:
I strongly disagree with you. Government only corrupt the minds of the innocent, the use their power to their full extent to manipulate the population for their own benefit. Government has a growing need for power and money which would eventually lead to an evil authoritarian government. For example government shouldn't have the power to decide if the country goes to war or not.
Government is supposed to be some guidelines for use to follow, to be able to control ourself, to know limits, and in some cases to deal with international issues. Instead, government now means power, corruption, people who want to do what they want whenever the want it. Government should have a minimum imposition over society, because it is not the guidelines we need and it is making it worse.
Jacopo, the society that we have right now isn't capable of handling themselves thoroughly thats right, but ask yourself this: Is government helping and guiding society fairly and with its best intention? No, it is not, it is only making it worse. Government damages the mind of innocent people like Javier said, and its politicians only worry about themselves. They don't care the way society is turning out. If they had less power maybe humans would try to get better by themselves, helping each other in society.
ELAINE, I agree with you with the fact that the government should have a minimum imposition over society, BUT I disagree with the fact that you say that the government is supposed to be guidelines to be followed since the people should follow what they want.
Macri, I am sorry to disagree with you, but what do you think government was originally placed for? It wasn't to take control over everything, it was to help us, to GUIDE use between what is right and what is wrong! It wasn't so that some people could gain a lot power and do whatever they want with it without caring about society!!
Well Carla I guess your right but I forgot to say not complete control in comment... What I was trying to say is that the government should have control in most of peoples affairs, like here I think the government should control more underage drinking, smoking and driving!!! To prevent bad things like alcohol or drug overdose, car accidents, and in some cases even death. Control in a big society should vital for a safe society. When I say not entire control I mean not control in private affairs.

Wanda, its harder for society to handle disputes fairly, because everyone will always want to be right, so they won't act fairly. Transactions however, are easier because people will make profit out of trade.
Javier, i must disagree with you, yoes the government must serve as a mediator, but it must also serve as representation for the peoples wishes, because you can't have 4 million people discussing the future of society.
In a way you are right and not right. To be able to have a government by representation as i believe you are saying, that would place power in a certain number of people and with power comes corruption.
No Macri, I'm not trying to say that society should control everything because that would be too much power in the hands of the citizens. What I'm trying to say is that the government should not intervene in the personal or public affairs between the people of the society. For me the government should only set a set of guidelines in the economy for the people to follow.
Government should govern people and guide them to whatever they want to be. Because I don't believe people can do it on their own. They like to think that they can live without government. But, in all actuality, people need something to rely on like the government.
Lyanne, I disagree with you because if everyone is allowed to do what they want it will be total chaos. Because people are all different and have different views on everyhting, nohting would get decided or done.
Sam, I'm not saying that government should have no control over the people, just not toal control. The government is allowed to put some measures to society but not to impose many laws that people may disagree on. The government should only control to a certain extent so people can be free to do what they please.
I think that the government should govern the society as much as possible because if not then the people would be doing whatever they want and it would all become chaos.
I disagree with Lyanne. I believe that the government should have a lot of control over society, because if not then the people would be doing whatever they want.
CRI, so what you're trying to say is that if the government doesn't have full control over society then society would act like savages? Do you really think that the government is what controls society's ways? Well then the answer is no. The society is perfectly capable of handling themselves.
MACRI,
If you give society complete freedom, you'll see how crazy people can act.
Cristina, if the government has too much control over the people they're not free to be who they really want to be. The government would contol everything. People would not be able to express what they want and are not able to discover their real self.
Salvador: Disputes should be resolved by the people who started it, not by a foreign involvement that would only impose what he/she believes would be right. Society would be able to reach agreement, ultimately.
Lyanne: But like i said before, when people are left to do as they please, chaos insues. they need to be controled. they act like they know what they want, but if they didn't have someone there telling them, they probably would have no idea.
Jacopo i have to disagree with you because individuals are able to govern themself, and what governments do is interfere with we were supposed to do from the first place.
Sam, If you make people to do things as a group of people want to they will not be happy and will not be able to find themselves and do what they really want to. The government will make a guideline to control some aspects and direct but it will not have too much control.
